Red Barber Chairs

Two of the coolest red barber chairs were found in the pharmacy when we bought it. They looked like maybe the early 1940's era with funky hints of art deco. We quickly moved them to the hotel so that the rain wouldn't ruin them and they shuffled from room to room for several years. I knew that they wouldn't be anything that we would display and that they would have to find a new home at some point.

This past spring we put them up for sale and I got a response from Luis, founder of Bonafide Pomade. He was in the market for some great vintage barber chairs for a new store he was opening down in the LA area. I was so excited that these chairs would be going to someone who obviously knew their worth and would making them beautiful again! Luis and his parents drove the long drive up and after a quick tour of the hotel, and some very careful maneuvering loaded them into their van and headed back to LA.

I was completely impressed with Luis and his small company that he had founded himself and now was distributed worldwide. I've been following along on instagram watching the progress of his store and recently saw the end result of all of his hard work with his store. With his permission I'm so excited to share what the chairs now look like... absolutely perfect to me.

I've been told that the top images on the left are our particular chairs out of the grouping. Don't they look amazing? Check out these details below...

It makes my heart happy to see that there are people out there that love and respect history and make that extra effort to make it whole again. If you are ever in the Santa Ana area and need a cut, totally check these guys out!
